The Department of Business Administration is committed to developing leaders to excel in today’s rapidly changing corporate world.
Our department is a unique centre of teaching and learning that focuses on helping you to recognize your potential through an educational experience that is truly transformational. To do this, our program is designed to leverage the present-day business and current academic scenario and to enable students to face all the challenges in a competitive manner. This autonomous programme is affiliated to JNTUH and approved by AICTE. Our department consists of faculty with specialization in Marketing, Human Resource, Operations and Finance and with the strong industry background and inclination towards research. The department provides specializations namely Marketing, HR, Finance and Information Systems.
Our programs are planned to make sure that students enhance their competencies which are the combination of Knowledge, Skills, Traits and Attitudes, which collectively enable a student to perform successfully in a given job. We work towards building Foundational Competencies which include Commitment, Integrity, Drive for Results, Self-awareness and Self-regulation, Embracing Diversity and Teamwork; Functional Competencies which include Analytical Thinking, Conceptual Thinking, Setting Standards, Managing Resources, Decisiveness, Planning, Team Leadership, and Tact & Communication.; Technical Competencies: Common Technical Requirements; Function-Specific Technical Requirements: Academic Qualification and Training and Specialized Expertise; primary competency categories: Tangible or measurable skills, Knowledge, Behaviour and Interpersonal skills and Re-skilling & De-skilling, Corporate mentoring and other extra- curricular activities.

Overview
Business is about managing change in technology, markets, corporate cultures and global environments. The MBA program aims at developing a student's intellectual ability, executive personality and managerial skills through an appropriate blending of business and general education. The MBA curriculum provides students with a comprehensive management education of globally recognized best practices with flexibility of their adaptation to indigenous entrepreneurial and societal context. Curriculum of the programme ascends from general management education to specialization in diverse business fields. General management skills like oral and written communication, decision-making, leadership, and teamwork developed among the students at the initial level of the programme provides them with a solid foundation for more advanced studies at the elective level during the subsequent stage. Core courses taught integrate information and theories from various disciplines, including communication, economics, financial accounting, quantitative methods, business strategy, marketing, finance, organizational structure and strategic management and prepare the students to think critically about business issues in order to enable them to develop strategic level understanding and demonstrate comprehension of complex theoretical constructs in the major business disciplines and technologies.
MBA is a two-year full time course spread over four semesters. The program is duly approved by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to the JNTUH. Course is also accredited by National Board of accreditation (NBA). Besides, MBA Program is committed to provide the educational and corporate experiences required for professional competence. To facilitate a team of highly specialized resource persons are associated.
Profile
The Post Graduate Department of Business Management comprises of well experienced qualified faculty members from Industry & Academia to impart knowledge and skills to students and train them to meet the liberalized and globalized market demand. The department emphasizes towards imparting quality education, rigorous teaching-learning, hands-on expertise and helping students to shape their all-round personality. The department with its strong pool of faculty contributes to develop life-long learning skills to its students. The department regularly organizes lectures by experts from industries and institutes in contemporary areas to bridge the gap between syllabi and current developments.
The two year MBA programme aims at transforming the students into competent managerial professionals by continues activity based learning. By understanding the growing demand for high calibre candidates in business administration in the corporate world, we emphasis on enhancing the employability skills of our students that would meet the expectations of the Corporate world, we assure quality and commitment to the student’s community. We believe that each and every student has the potential to be groomed to aspire successful corporate career as our students at the end of the programme exhibit the graduate attributes.
Latest Pedagogy
The pedagogy encourages practical exposure to real business situations by portfolio learning, multifaceted analysis of real business situations, etc.We provide management education on par with the best Indian B-Schools. We use prominent pedagogy tools like case study method, live projects and simulations to provide valuable insights of the industry. We strive to expand the knowledge horizons of the learners using tools like Corporate News Analysis, Group discussions, Management Games, Guest lectures and Library assignments. We also enhance the managerial skills of the students with an E-Learning facility in our advanced digital library.
Customized Training and Development
It is imperative for a management institute to upgrade their standards by ascending their skill sets to stand apart from the crowd. To imbibe corporate culture we offer outbound trainings, Colloquies, Seminars, Soft skills sessions, Workshops and Entrepreneur development programs. To provide an exposure to the external world for the students we organize Industrial visits and tours. We also train our students to develop their organizing skills by conducting management events.
About the Course
The MBA program aims at providing inputs to the students relevant to the business, industry and trade so that they can effectively function in different organization and face the challenges arising as a sequel to all round development of the country. The Faculty at JBIET focuses on management education more than just business management. The commitment is thought leadership with a deep understanding of business. The approach to pedagogy combines fieldwork, case studies and instrumented feedback with a strong emphasis on concepts and theory. A variety of teaching and learning techniques are employed to impart knowledge and skills to students at JBIET. It encourages students to make presentations on academic, management and other topics of current interest. Students are trained in effective communication, conflict resolution, negotiation and to face constructive criticism from fellow students and faculties in an informal environment.
Objective of the program, thus, is developing the unique leadership qualities among the young students required for successfully managing business functions, an organizational unit or an enterprise. It aims at to develop students into broadly educated business managers and executives who understand the nature of business as a whole, with the tools and techniques applicable to a wide variety of business situations. The program gives the students a chance to bring together all of the theories, skills and tools studied during the program and integrate them into a learning experience that highlights the nature of competition and the kind of strategic maneuvering that must be done in order to succeed.
Upon completion of the programme, many graduates go on to become successful entrepreneurs, or to assume leadership positions in SMEs, major local and multinational corporations, in consulting firms, or in government service. In the field, the graduates are expected to be able to integrate human and other organizational resources with continually developing technology, while nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit that has always been one of the key characteristics to successful businesses. They are expected to adapt and apply complex business theories as they build an understanding of evolving organizational realities that require instant, skillful and ethical action as they aim through rapidly changing circumstances. They are also expected to be able to identify key ethical, global, and social issues surrounding business related choices and make decisions that balance corporate values and socially responsible action.

1.To achieve and sustain Leadership in Management Education, Research, Consultancy, and Development and to develop contemporary skill sets through Curricular, Co- curricular and Extra-curricular activities that meets industry expectations and enhances their employability.
2.To nurture the future business leaders by creating an educational eco-system for acquiring and applying business knowledge and to understand, analyze, and apply ethics frameworks to be socially responsible and decision making to serve stakeholders’ interests.
3.To impart high-quality Management education with efforts to instill strong human values, creativity, entrepreneurial skills, effective communication skills and problem-solving abilities to face managerial and business challenges.
The Board of Studies (BOS) Meeting chaired by Dr. P. Subrahmanyam, Associate Professor & Head of the Department of Business Administration. The Department has conducted 9th BOS for R20 Post Graduate program course structure and course syllabus of Master of Business Administration (MBA) on 25-08-2020 at 11.00 AM in the Department of Business Administration.
The objective of 9th BOS was to create a platform for insightful discussions and deliberations amongst the Industry Professionals and Academicians. BOS was conducted in the esteemed Presence of Dr. Pabhu Kumar Sir, JNTUH Nominee, Dr. Srinivas Reddy an academic expert from Aristotle PG College, Mr. D. Ganesh Nag CEO of Brain O Vision as an Industrial expert and the departmental subject experts have participated and contributed while framing the course structure and course syllabus in line with the Model Curriculum Designed and recommended by AICTE for MBA Post Graduate Program.

Computer Laboratory
The Department has a separate computer lab equipped with the latest technology and trained assistant to help the students learn through hands on experience. It also has Campus Wi-Fi network for internet access for faculty, students and staff.
Library
The Department has a spacious library having an excellent collection of latest books, magazines, journals and periodicals on Management. In addition to the print versions of journals the Department has on line journal database. The library remains open for nearly 12 hours on all working days for the benefit of students and faculty. Apart from the Department library the students have access to the central library of the SJEC for traditional and digital references.
NPTEL´s E Learning facility
The Institute has also has the facility of free online courseware through NPTEL´s Classes which faculty member and student can avail the countrywide classroom facilities for the enhancement of their knowledge and quality of engineering education.
Placement and Training Cell
The college has a creditable placement record. The Placement and Training Cell is headed by a qualified and experienced Placement Officer. The Cell conducts regular training programmes in soft skills on a regular basis to enhance their communication, teamwork, leadership, attitude building by organising a series of activities besides case study analysis, management games, group discussions, mock interviews, etc for personality development, entrepreneurship development etc. and assists the students for project placement as well as final placement. On-campus and off-campus placement interviews are arranged during the final semester
Mentoring System
The Institute has adopted the policy of mentoring through which each and every student is under the observation of their respective mentors which guide them in their academic as well as personal problems and grievances.

PEO 1: To equip students with requisite knowledge, skill and right attitude necessary to provide effective leadership in a global environment.
PEO 2: To inculcate students with professional attitude, effective communication Skills and capability to succeed in multi-disciplinary and diverse fields.
PEO 3: To develop competent management professionals with strong ethical values, capable of assuming a pivotal role in various sectors of the Indian economy and society, aligned with the national priorities.
Programme Outcomes (PO's)
PO1: Business Environment and Domain Knowledge (BEDK): Economic, legal and social environment of Indian business.. Graduates are able to improve their awareness sand knowledge about functioning of local and global business environment and society. This helps in recognizing the functioning of businesses, identifying potential business opportunities, evolvement of business enterprises and exploring the entrepreneurial opportunities.
PO2:Critical thinking, Business Analysis, Problem Solving and Innovative Solutions (CBPI):Competencies in quantitative and qualitative techniques. Graduates are expected to develop skills on analyzing the business data, application of relevant analysis, and problem solving in other functional areas such as marketing, business strategy and human resources.
PO3:Global Exposure and Cross-Cultural Understanding (GECCU): Demonstrate a global outlook with the ability to identify aspects of the global business and Cross Cultural Understanding.
PO4: Social Responsiveness and Ethics (SRE): Developing responsiveness to contextual social issues / problems and exploring solutions, understanding business ethics and resolving ethical dilemmas. Graduates are expected to identify the contemporary social problems, exploring the opportunities for social entrepreneurship, designing business solutions and demonstrate ethical standards in organizational decision making. Demonstrate awareness of ethical issues and can distinguish ethical and unethical behaviors.
PO5: Effective Communication (EC): Usage of various forms of business communication, supported by effective use of appropriate technology, logical reasoning, articulation of ideas. Graduates are expected to develop effective oral and written communication especially in business applications, with the use of appropriate technology (business presentations, digital communication, social network platforms and so on).
PO6: Leadership and Teamwork (LT): Understanding leadership roles at various levels of the organization and leading teams. Graduates are expected to collaborate and lead teams across organizational boundaries and demonstrate leadership qualities, maximize the usage of diverse skills of team members in the related context.
