About the Department

The department of ECM is best known for its talented and dedicated professionals renowned for their excellence in various specializations in the field of Electronics & Computers. The department is provided with state of the art technological tools incorporated in all the existing laboratories. The augmentation of the intake of the department of 60 seats. Electronics and Computer Engineering is a multidisciplinary field that combines aspects of both electronics engineering and computer science to design, develop, and manage software and hardware systems.

Electronics and Computer Engineering(ECM) merges the principles of both electronics engineering and computer science engineering. It deals with Designing and Testing Components, Design, Operating Systems, Programming Languages and Software Development. The Prominent features of Electronics and Computer Engineering includes Hardware and Software Integration, Embedded Systems, Internet of Things, Research and Development.

Dr. Narsappa Reddy obtained his B-Tech (ECE) degree from Rural Engg.College, Bhalki, affiliated to Gulbarga University Kalaburagi Karnataka, M-Tech (VLSI) from J.B.Institute of Engineering Technology Hyderabad, affiliated to JNTU Hyderabad. He was awarded Ph D degree from the Gulbarga University Kalaburagi. He has 22 years of experience in teaching and research. He has been serving J.B.Institute of Engineering Technology for the last 9 years. Dr. Narsappa Reddy is currently serving as Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering (ECM) at J.B.Institute of Engineering Technology Hyderabad. Dr. Narsappa Reddy has authored 15 Research articles published in national, international journals and also attended in various conferences at the national and international level. He has 1 Patent work on Intelligent Communication System: INTELLIGENT WI-FI COMMUNICATION SYSTEM WITH DEFINED NOTIFICATION.

ACM is an educational and scientific society which works with the motto of “Advancing Computing as a Science and Profession”. The ACM JBIET Student Chapter

The JBIET Hyderabad Student Chapter of the ACM was established in 2014 to address the needs of the JBIET Hyderabad computing community. Goal of the chapter is to create interest among the students for computer science apart from what they learn during the course work. The chapter organizes talks and workshops on different subjects by speakers who are well known in their area. These talks give students opportunities to learn about advanced research subjects. Industrial visit to NRSC-ISRO (Jeedimetla) on 28th April, 2022, 19 students of 2nd year and two faculties had taken part. Briefing was given about ISRO. A video clip of making and launching of chandrayaan-1 was shown. Scientist Srinivas explained each and every models of all the satellites launched by ISRO, the real cameras used in satellite imaging, various types of antennas, payloads, electronic devices used in satellite, different photographs taken by the satellite and technical details of each part of the satellite which were displayed in space exhibition. The visit to ISRO was very informative, as students got a complete idea about the parts, working and launching of satellites. They got an idea of what to be done to join ISRO in future. It was also very helpful for expanding their knowledge about space research.

Guest Lecture on “Survival and Growth of Engineers in the New Millennium” on 8th February 2022 (Tuesday). The guest lecture was scheduled to start at 10.00 am in M.N Rao Auditorium, JBIET. The lecture was delivered by Mr. Rajesh Pershad, Associate Professor & HOD, MBA Department, JBIET. All students of II, III and IV years of Electronics and Computer Engineering Department were present at this knowledge sharing session.

Guest Lecture on “Data Science for Engineers” on 11th February 2022 (Friday). The guest lecture was scheduled to start at 10.30 am in Placement Seminar Hall, JBIET. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Suresh Dara, Professor in Computer Science and Engineering, BVRIT, Narsapur.
