M.Tech in Energy Systems(ES) programme:
The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering has started two year M.Tech programme (Four Semesters) in Energy Systems from the academic year 2013-14 with an annual intake of 18 seats. The course provides excellent technical knowledge in the emerging areas of energy sectors. The curriculum is updated from time to time as per the recommendations of the Board of studies in such a way that it caters to the needs of industry.
This course covers wide range of topics including Renewable energy extraction Technologies, Electrical and mechanical energy conservation techniques, Optimization and design of energy systems, Green building concepts, Applied Thermodynamics, Energy policies, Computational fluid dynamics etc., The department has exclusively Energy systems lab for this course which includes Solar water heating system and Photovoltaic training system. The department also has simulation laboratory with simulation software packages.
The course work is conducted in the first two semesters, while the third and fourth semesters are dedicated for project work. The students thus have enormous time for completing their real time live projects and get fully prepared to readily take up assignments in the energy sector
